    Deus Ex: Mankind Divided horrible performance

    Recently bought the game on sale but can't really play it due to performance. My laptop meets the recommended requirements (barely, I'll admit) but the game is hardly playable on even the absolute lowest settings on 1080p. I feel like that shouldn't be happening but maybe the game is just optimized poorly.

    Intel I7 1.80GHz 8CPUs; 15.8 GB Ram; 4021MB VRAM (GTX 1070) according to dxdiag; 512GB SSD

    I get somewhere between 40-60 fps in the starting area on the lowest settings (everything turned off or to the lowest it will go). Occasionally, I dip down to 30. I don't even care if the game runs at 60 fps; I just want to play the game at 45 frames or so on decent graphics settings, but I'm not even guaranteed to get that on the worst graphics. What's strange is Geforce Experience (I'm aware it's not good at it's job) was actually recommending I turn off\set to low all settings, which makes me think this is just a poorly optimized game.

    I've done google searches and tried all sorts of advice but nothing seems to work.

    What I've Done: plugged in my laptop (easy one to forget), turned MSAA off (along with everything else), toggling DirectX 12 and exclusive fullscreen (whatever that is), updating drivers, restarting computer, running nothing in the background, and I still can't figure it out.

    Anyways, I thought I'd post this before giving up because it looks like a really cool game, I love stealth games, and I really want to play it. If anyone has any advice/ideas feel free to share them with me before I go argue with steam to get my money back.

    Is it worth a second playthrough?

    I just finished deus ex md because i got it. on a sale for a laughable amount. I did a non-lethal (with max of 5 casualties ) and my question is it worth playing through a second time. I had a lot of fun with the game. ! SPOILER ALERT! I managed to knock out Marchenko and save the delegates.

    What locations would you like to see in the next Deus Ex game?

    I think Istanbul would be an interesting choice with the Deus Ex modern/near futuristic art and architecture mixed with the old Ottoman and ancient Byzantine architecture.
