I'd like to know if this is a good play and reading order Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:18 PM PDT Hello all, As you might have guessed I'm new to the Deus Ex series. I hope this doesn't violate there rules but don't want to play some games, I want to play all of them and read all the books and comics. I don't read much but when I read about something I'm interested in, I really enjoy it. I did some research and came up with a list of everything in chronological order: Book: Deus Ex Falling Angel Book: Deus Ex Icarus effect Game:Deus Ex The Fall Game: Deus Ex Human Revolution (until fight with Barrett) Comic: Deus Ex Human Revolution Game: Deus Ex Human Revolution (until the end) Book: Deus Ex Black Light Book: Deus Ex Hardline Comic: Deus Ex Children's Crusade Game: Deus Ex GO Comic: Deux Ex Dawning Darkness Game: Deus Ex Mankind Divided Game: Deus Ex Game: Deus Ex Invisible War I don't care much about the grapics. I mostly just want to learn as much as possible about the Deus Ex franchise. I know almost nothing about what the stories are about so I'm really excited. Can you guys check this list for me, and see if I didn't forget or need to change anything? [link] [comments]
PSA for people that can't get Invisible War to work: check your antivirus software Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:19 PM PDT TL;DR Check your computer's antivirus software and make it an allowed app so it doesn't keep crashing when you boot it/ get to the main menus and then the screen crashes and all you can see is a zoomed in screen of your Steam Library. This is a way to fix it if you're having the same issues with the game that I had. Over the past two days I was trying to figure out why another piece of software kept 'deleting itself' whenever I opened it. I was informed to look through my antivirus software and while finding what I was looking for I also saw 'dx2.exe' was in there and I immediately knew what it was. It's been 'quarantined' every time I've tried to install it over the past year. Out of all the reasons I've read for why this game won't work, that has never been mentioned and not in a million years would I have thought that a game would be seen as a virus. A friend of mine thinks because its so old and looks like a 'foreign' type of file. I don't know much about computers but if that were the case then the first game wouldn't load either. I don't need mods either because it runs really smooth, I kept closing and reopening it to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Would you recommend the Visible Upgrade if the game works, though? I think I'll just play it safe for now lol. Now, I use McAfee, mostly because it came with the PC and when I subscribed it was 75% off. But I've heard that McAfee itself has been called a virus by people before because of how strict it can be. The first time it worked I just restored the quarantined file but after that I saw it being deleted from the steamapps folder and it kept getting quarantined again until I made it an allowed app. So make sure you do that if you use McAfee. It's either all or nothing, though, if I take it out of 'allowed apps', it just keeps getting quarantined. But I doubt this game is going to hack our computers.... unless? Haha. I just thought I'd share what I found because I haven't seen this anywhere else. [link] [comments]

Anyone can help me find music like the one of the Dvali theater? Posted: 02 Aug 2020 01:37 PM PDT I've been in the Dvali theater, I went there when I called Otar to collect a favor he owed me, and I saw a buch of thugs and strippers dancing to the rythm of some sort of electronic music, I really liked it, but I don't exactly which electronic music subgenre is, and I thought some of you guys might know something about it or where I can find more music like that... Revision - Achievement - Am I Being Detained Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:33 PM PDT Hey folks, I marked this as "spoiler" as, even though this is a 20 year old game, someone might be playing this for the first time. I've played Deus Ex many...many times. Countless times. A few times per year, for 20 years. I like Revision, and I'm working my way through the achievements. There's one called "AM I BEING DETAINED" and it involves knocking out all the bad guys on Liberty Island during the first mission. Over the years, I've gotten fairly good at figuring out which terrorists need a baton to the back, and which ones need a tranquilizer dart to the neck. I've gone through this level several times - always knocking out every terrorist and mercenary - but the last two times, I've went through trying to get the achievement. The first time I didn't count. The last two times, I DID count. Each time, I counted 5 mercenaries (what I should have on Easy), and 36 terrorists (there should be 37). So.... I'm wondering, for those of you who have obtained this achievement, any tips and tricks? Where's the missing terrorist? Over by the dock gate, there's a large friendly robot, and a DEAD terrorist body semi-close to the gate. Is it possible that this is my One Guy? If so, how do I save him before the robot gets to him? Other than that, there's a dead terrorist near UNATCO HQ, but I'm assuming that's just there for window dressing. There's no way I'm getting 100% achievements on the Revision, but I'd like to knock out (achievement humor) this one, as I know what I need to do, except for that one missing guy.... Thoughts? Microtransactions on Mankind Divided? Posted: 02 Aug 2020 07:45 AM PDT Hey guys: Mankind Divided - Digital Deluxe Edition is on sale right now... Out of protest back when the game was released I decided only to buy/play it if the microtransactions weren't a thing in the game anymore so... hows that nowadays? [link] [comments]
