As a Deus ex fan this is how it felt…

Did anybody else think MJ12 was really cool when you were younger and want to join?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 07:24 PM PDT

When I first played this game back when I was in 9th grade the notion of an authoritarian global order was really appealing to me for some reason.

I replayed the reveal section of deus ex over and over trying to find a way to stay with unatco/mj12 rather than go rogue. Since the internet was new (or rather I didn't know how to use it properly) it took me months to realize there was simply no way to do it.

While I can see how fucked up it is now, in my more naive teen years the whole notion of a machiavellian sort of conspiracy group was fascinating. The way they had installations all over the globe, were collecting mass data to track people with, would use the virus/vaccine to control people, currency manipulation, computer hackers, labs at the bottom of the ocean, experiments with mutants and robots.

As a teenager it was all so cool and I wanted in.

Deus ex MD semi stealth mode

DE:MD Please explain the weird sound to me (maybe spoilers?)

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 01:12 AM PDT

When I enter the storage room behind the infirmary in tf29's headquarters I notice a weird sound, as if something activated. I can't find out what it is, from what I've seen of the game it doesn't happen anywhere, and there doesn't seem to be any explanation. Nobody seems to be talking about it, what am I missing? Happens at around 14s in the attached video. https://youtu.be/bgWgwPqLxiU

Human Revolution Original or Director's Cut?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 02:58 PM PDT

So I'm a newb trying to get into the franchise (will prob try the first game once I can run it). Just wondering which is worth a buy since I hear the original game has crappy boss fights while the director's cut improves the bosses but forces you through a DLC campaign where you lose all your upgrades. Which one of these downsides is less of a pain?
