Nope. Freaking guardians of the galaxy. Ugh.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

You could not live with your failure. Where did that bring you? Back to making another disappointing game.

The majority of us knew this was gonna happen. But what's next?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 01:47 PM PDT

    My opinion.

I always remember David Anfossi (Head of Eidos Montréal) talking about Eidos Montréal having three games in development at once, and that Deus Ex was none of them. Now the puzzle is complete, we have those Marvel games literally nobody wants to buy and there was Shadow of the Tomb Raider. So these are the three games David was talking about in an interview back in 2018(I think?).

People all over this subreddit are really pissed, which I can completely understand and relate to but we already knew, didn't we?

In my opinion, now that we've been through all of these games, it is time to finally give green light to Deus Ex. I mean... Sure we still have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy is gonna be released and flop like Avengers did, but people are talking about the end of Deus Ex. Let's just assume for a second that they are beginning development on the next Deus Ex between now and the time this new Marvel game is out. That would mean that we'll have to wait like 4 or 5 years until we even get first information. Already depressing enough but if that's really what it takes Eidos to make it big again, I'll give them this time. And so should Square Enix... I really hope that they aren't gonna be an ass again and make Eidos cut like half of the game.

To sum this all up, in my opinion we shouldn't think Deus Ex is not completely dead. We should see it as an opportunity for green light after this Marvel project. But if this opportunity isn't taken... I won't blame Eidos Montréal! I will blame Square Enix. The reason why all these Marvel projects are happening in the first place.

Thank you for reading. I'd love to see what you think.

Hong Kong is the best hub area of any Immersive Sim.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 03:37 PM PDT

I played Deus Ex as a kid and had fond memories of it however into adulthood the game has become one of my all time favourites to play (who am I kidding it is my favourite game) but of notable point has to be Hong Kong, I LOVE the hub area more than any other I can think of in any Immersive Sim.

There is so much to see, the whole place is interesting and different to look at, it feels alive and totally interactive. When you encounter the MJ12 commandos for the first time raiding the triad night club with the Hong Kong cops firing on them in the mall, the chaos all around you it feels like a Jon Woo film. The Maggie chow character, seems shady yet convincing at the same time, until you find the sword in her apartment along with the MJ12 troopers and then you know she's in on it all.

Hong Kong also doesn't outstay its welcome, I always felt Manhatten kinda does a little, you seem to visit the place every few missions until you disappear to Paris, Tongs, hideout is great aswell, tucked away.

When I fire up a new game of Deus Ex I always look forward to the Hong Kong segment, I enjoy taking my time around the city and never want to rush it.

I don't know how you guys feel but I just thought I'd mention it, I felt the later games in the franchise never really had anywhere as good as HK.

    Deus Ex Human Revolution Help

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 06:49 PM PDT

Been playing DXHR Directors Cut for the first time on the ps3 and enjoying it. However, when I got to the mission where you disable the satellite in derelict row for Pritchard I got off the game, when I went back I went to the mission at the LIMB clinic and then was called back to derelict row for the Extraction mission. But when I returned the long-ass ladder to get to the roof (where the mission starts) was gone, I've scoured every inch of this damn place for another way and came up with nothing. I've checked video walkthroughs but they made it so the Satellite mission and the Extraction mission intervene perfectly, which I didn't do. Am I screwed or am I just blind and there's something else? Anything helps. Thanks

    Square Enix’s next game is…

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 01:53 PM PDT

Of course, not the next Deus Ex. I would say I was disappointed, but that would mean I was anticipating another DX. Nope, they'd rather ride a cash cow. It's just good business, after all.

Which augment should I get first, for my first playthrough ?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 11:58 AM PDT

I'm playing the game for the first time, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number of augments availible.

My playstyle usually consists in sniping NPC's with tranquilizer darts until they notice me and run in with a machine gun after that.

Since this game doesn't have audio logs (as far as I'm aware) I'm not likely to hack any personal computers and the like (because I'm too lazy to read).

I was thinking of getting the jump and sprint augments first, but I'd like to know if there's anything that can make the game easier during the early stages ?

Edit : I'm talking about Human Revolution

Edit 2: most people seem to agree that I should invest in hacking. I'll do that then, thank you for your suggestions !
