Doing a Let's Play of HR then MD afterwards! I hadn't played HR in about 7 years before starting and damn it's just as good if not better than I remember. I played through MD for the first time in late 2019 and it totally sucked me right back in. Here's hoping one day we get the end to the trilogy

What does this thing do in HR?

    Breach Mode Servers

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 04:08 AM PST

Hi! I was trying to play Breach Mode on the PS4 but it says the servers are currently unavailable. Are they just being finicky or did they shut them down? Thank you!

    Avoiding takedowns (note: minor spoilers)

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 03:46 PM PST

So, I've just got to the end of another run of MD; this time seeing if I could do the whole thing (sidequests and all) without taking anyone down or 'cheating' by cloaking past them and still getting Ghost and/or Smooth Op. bonuses (much as I like the cloak, it does render a lot of the stealth redundant.)

With the sole exception of Marchenko (for obvious reasons), it appears that it is perfectly possible to do the main run without a single takedown. But I did find a few places in the sidequests, and I wondered if anyone knew if they were possible to avoid or not?

    (a) The Golden Ticket - there's a thug threatening Edward Brod who doesn't seem to react to anything other than a takedown.

    (b) 01011000 - You can takedown the guy in the Information office to get a Secretary that avoids the need to fight Walker, or you can take him down directly. But either way, you have to do it to someone. (I hadn't tried just punching Walker out before and was delighted to find that as a result, he's one of the guys who shows up at your apartment later. I love that sort of attention to detail.)

    (c) All in the Family - I didn't even attempt this one as I remembered that it involves taking down several Dvalis en route whatever happened (discounting Dominik himself, of course.)

It's a very trivial thing really, but it just bugged me that I wasn't able to avoid these...

Do you prefer augmented vision on?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 08:58 PM PST

Augmented vision as in the highlights around objects.

EDIT: Probably should have added more context, do you think augmented vision adds to the game, or perhaps is best with it? I just wonder about this due to some things in the game favoring augmented vision in order to be seen such as walls that you can break through. I don't play with it personally, but I just wanted to know your opinions on it.

Deus Ex Title Screen - The Quality is Augmented

I wish Mankind Divided (and Human Revolution) had an option that tells you if you have every item in the room.

There are so many nooks and crannies in this game (I love it) but I wish I knew if I had everything!

Just started Deus Ex (The original one). I'm enjoying it so far. But I SUCK at STEALTH. Do I HAVE to play stealthily, or can I go full guns blazing?

I come from a land of more casual and forgiving RPGs. Fallout, The Elder Scrolls...Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is my favorite one of the lot. And on those games, we always have the option of going stealth or going tanking.

But after finishing the first level on Deus Ex, I'm taken a bit aback. Is every level going to be like this?
I don't mind coming behind the enemies and shooting them in the back of the head, but sneaking around avoiding them, through ducts, darkness and such...I just never get the hang of it.

Is this a stealth game? Do I have to go hidden or in later levels I can let myself just let loose the Terminator in me? Of course, I'm not talking Call of Duty style, but...at least Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines style?

Mankind Divided runs and looks terrible, maybe I’m doing something wrong?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 09:53 AM PST

I have an rtx 2070 super, and an i7 8700k, and yet even on medium settings I'm still getting ~40 FPS. I feel like there must be something I'm doing wrong. More than that, the game looks awful, even on higher settings, everything looks blurry and pixelated almost. Any advice someone can give me?

Edit: Turning of MSAA tripled my frame rate, it seems that was the solution.
