Anyone have any theories or suggestions on what they would like to see in regards to Deus Ex's 20th Anniversary? A remastered version of the original?

Ever wondered why most New York levels were enclosed into big walls ? Here's why...

You probably noticed it but Liberty Island, Battery Park and Hell's Kitchen are either surrounded by high impassible walls or closed gates, depending of the case.

There's an article about it that you can find at UNATCO HQ and Hell's Kitchen. Basically it says that because of the recent resurgence of terrorism, decision of walling off all NYC districts and putting checkpoints at certain locations has been taken. Civilians aren't allowed to travel within the city using their personal vehicle anymore and must resort to public transports instead.

I just love how they managed to combine a technical limitation with the lore, very few games does that.

    Helios AI

    Posted: 05 Apr 2020 10:32 PM PDT

How/why did the merger of Icarus and Daedalus create a "Benevolent" AI? Is it because both Helios is a merger of two different AI that possess two different views. And truly possessing two different world views (We as humans may try to claim to understand but are still prone to our own ego and bias) allows Helios to see the bigger picture and to want to help Humanity progress?

Helios says that it is the ideal entity to govern humanity because it has no ambition but what about the merger bought about this attitude.

This thread does a good job of discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/Deusex/comments/3pcinq/spoilers_lots_of_them_dae_was_behind_everything/ .

This video is also great as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjF2oy6qdHg

Also, did Helios choose JC Denton as a "host" because it saw him as more humane/empathetic and thus a better representation of humanity?

    Deus Ex mirroring our world

    Posted: 05 Apr 2020 02:55 PM PDT

I just started replaying the original and was struck by how eerily it mirrors our real world. Bill Gates is even working on a vaccine giving real Bob Page vibes (though I know it isn't comparable).
