    Couple of Questions...

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 07:12 PM PST

I just finished Mankind Divided, The gameplay and everything was smooth and great though, during my gameplay i had some questions. I dont know if its dumb or answered before but please fill me up on this one, If Deus ex 2000 is set after the Human Revolution and Mankind Divided then why i didn't see any data cubes or literally any NPC talk about the Aug incident, I mean sure its really old in that time and there is no point in talking about it while there are other big issues like the gray death but it is important and it needs to be mentioned and discussed, so why? and why there are no augmented NPCs or barely any augmented NPC in Deus Ex 2000's world?

Thanks and Im very new to the series

Just finished Mankind Divided, i feel empty inside

The game was way too short, and there was a lot of stuff that was as important as the Golden Masks that was just not given importance (ie: The Illuminati), hopefully Square Enix finishes the Jensen trilogy in the 2020s (coincidentally being the decade the games take place) since they don't seem to have any projects currently AFAIK

I can't run Deus Ex 1 properly anymore: Kentie's launcher hates the nanokey ring

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 10:52 AM PST

Edit: I figured it out. The binding for "use object" was gone. It was empty and I just had to assign left click to that.

My first Deus Ex playthrough was on a weak Laptop. I used Kentie's launcher and everything was fine. Now I'm trying to play it on a 4k setup with an rtx2060 and nothing works properly.

Vanilla looks unduly dark, and all the dark spots also have a moldy jpg'd green tint. This aspect gets better with openGL, but that causes a lot of texture/shadow flickering.

Everything looks great with Kentie's launcher – but that causes the nano Keyring to stop working. When Kentie's Launcher is installed, I can't open the first locked door in Training. Obviously, I don't want to skip the training and play the actual game in this state, because I don't know what other doors may be kept shut by this bug.

I also tried GMDX. Only to realise that it also uses Kentie's launcher. Same keyring bug.

Of course I also downloaded the Visual Studio 2015 runtimes needed for Kentie, but was told they were already installed.

Any ideas what else I might try?
