Just finished the original Deus Ex 2000 game (spoilers ahead) Posted: 27 Feb 2021 01:08 PM PST Well I spent the whole week playing it from last Friday to this Saturday. I really liked the story and the music especially the main theme. I liked JC even though he feels like he's almost devoid of emotion like he's the terminator 😂. I went with Tracer Tong's ending. And wanted to hear the thoughts of between players here on why they liked the game and what choice they made at the end. For me part of my choice despite not seeing it as the ideal one, was that I trust neither the Illuminati not Helios. I am aware part of every ending takes place and sets up the events of Invisible War somewhat. The thing is we can't create a perfect system as we humans are imperfect. To trust a group of rich people to run the world no matter how smart they are can still lead to disastrous things. I mean we've seen to what lengths they were willing to go in the case of Humans Revolution and Mankind Divided. So that sort of tainted my view of them. Helios on the other is an AI created by humans I do not see how it is an absolute guarantee That it would properly govern the world, provide guidance sure... But to truly rule over humanity? I kinda doubt that. I'm not ruling it out entirely just very doubtful. Tong's plan feels to me like a clean slate and a fresh start. But I still want to sit back and think about the possibilities and different outcomes that result from that. Suffice to say none are perfect, which reminds me of Fallout New Vegas somewhat. Posted: 27 Feb 2021 02:22 PM PST Every time I start a new game in Deus Ex: Invisible War, I get a black screen. After that it is required for me to reboot my PC because no key combination is able to shut down the program or change application window. I thought it was because I had changed the resolution to 1440p via game files but when I reverted the settings folder back to it's original state, the result was still the same. I've read about the visible upgrade but according to Virus Total it includes malicious software and some Steam posts said that the visible upgrade fixes visuals and resolution, not the black screen. I've tried killing some processes (Razer related stuff) and forcing the game to run on windowed mode. Forcing the game to run on windowed mode didn't result in a black screen ofcourse but the program didn't respond. Btw I'm using Windows 10 as OS. I own the Steam version of the game. I even played Deus Ex: The Fall just to complete all the games that are included in Steam's Deus Ex Collection and it really annoys me that I cannot play the final game (I played the games in chronological order) of my favorite video game franchise. Is there a solution to this which doesn't require me to download an unofficial third party program? Sorry for bad english. [link] [comments] | ||
DX1: Borderless window without Kentie's Launcher? Posted: 27 Feb 2021 02:49 AM PST I experienced a strange bug with DX1. Everytime I set the game resolution to my native res, 1366x768, the game will be rendered too big and only a quarter of top-left screen is displayed. This bug appear when I used DX10 and DX11 rendered, essential for a texture mod I've been using. I can fix it by pressing alt-enter, switching between fullscreen and windowed mode several times, but it's not a guaranteed fix and sometimes it crashes the game instead. The big stop everytime I used the borderless window option on Kentie's Launcher, but the launcher is not compatible with some mods and TC out there. Anybody knows how to run DX1 on Borderless window or maybe how to fix the resolution bug? [link] [comments] |
