Posted: 10 Jan 2021 02:35 PM PST I've read other players opinions on Golem being a location they wish was a bit bigger and more drawn out, with side-missions. I also really enjoyed the location and see the big potential that could still be there. Long after Mankind Divided release. Here, I am to play around with an idea that may have already been discussed...who knows! The possibility of Deus Ex: Golem Uprising which has the player prepare for break-ing out of Golem with many other augs that make it to the end...or die trying?! But I'm a massive believer of a game world evolving with spin-offs or additional titles that offer a totally different experience while continuing the original series of titles for the die-hard fans. I'm not for a minute suggesting Eidos doesn't keep bringing us the existing story in a timely manner too. I can't for the next release especially considering what is going on with Jensen. It's a lot to want from a studio but when they find success, they usually have the money to do it. Years went by of my occasional posts about Fallout getting an online title and how that would work. Not only was the idea completely rejected by the Fallout community as stupid. I got some serious backlash...abuse even. If it can make money a studio will do it and cash in on a wider audience. My idea/wish here is that Eidos recognises (may already have) the opportunity to use existing assets to create lore-supporting spin-off that could also add a new element of play that seems obvious. That element is the ability to switch characters and control different residents (maybe five) in Golem. This makes sense in Golem due to poverty and the idea nobody is strong on their own. Each character would have different augmented abilities and so the challenge becomes about how to utilize them as a team for the various quests. There could be side-quests for each character...an entire background and story for each one. Remember, the residents aren't well equipped and well cared for agents like we're used to. That creates new challenges that might involve smuggling everything from painkillers to neuropozyne and praxis. There could also be a secret lab that we can get new augmentations in but they are dodgy and might need to be removed after time or replaced. A secret training location to learn combat skills...because these people aren't military. Maybe it's time the Deus Ex experience included putting us face down in the mud. Make us feel the dirt and grime of those we're trying to free when we're playing a shiny looking super-agent! [link] [comments] | ||

Deus Ex (2000) modding suggestions? Posted: 10 Jan 2021 03:32 AM PST I don't want to use any of the massive overhauls like GMDX or Revision; I want something as close to the original as possible. I already have the kentie.net launcher. Mainly looking for bug fixers and optimisers. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
