Taking out Daria is officially preferred over talking to her?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 12:19 PM PST

For some strange reason I've always assumed that the more XP you get out of a particular situation, the more "preferred" this way is. For example, incapacitating has always brought you a tiny bit more XP (albeit, recently headshots apparently took over :/), and so did resolving conflicts without firing a single bullet.

This one, however, I don't understand.

With Daria you have an option to talk her out of being a serial killer. This obv requires an extra effort by making a trip to Dr. Cipra through the restricted territory in order to ultimately learn an override phrase and finish the whole thing in a non-violent way. This approach nets a Completionist 1500, a Spin Doctor 500, and Getting Things Done 350. 2350 overall.

However, the other approach is by far the simplest: you talk whatever bullshit you want to her, then the minute the fight starts you're already under cover, so you just to the left corner she went and throw a gas grenade. BOOM! Few coughs — and she's down (apparently, that Orlov dude forgot about rebreather implant!). Despite obvious police brutality this approach nets Trooper 10, Merciful Soul 20, Ghost 200, Smooth Operator 200, Getting Things Done 250 and two Completionist bonuses 1500. That's 3780 overall.

Now, do you think this double Completionist bonus is actually a bug? Because it'd certainly make sense, because I struggle to believe that the preferred way to resolve this situation is via violence. And Spin Doctor 500 is still supposed to slightly be better than Ghost + SO + Trooper + Merciful Soul (500 vs 430). WDYT?

Rank the Deus Ex protagonists as swordsmen

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 07:27 AM PST

As the title says, basically who is the most skilled/best swordsman lore-wise among them.

    Example of ranking:

"1. JC - He is too good." "2. Alex - Great but not as good." "3. Adam, okay at best" etc.

    Not my actual opinions ^

    Performance is between 10-30 fps.

    Psu is 850 I7-9700k 32gb of ram

Did a DDU but didn't work.

What am I doing wrong ?

Any mods for the original DX to play without hacking time limit?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 02:11 AM PST

I want to replay the original for the third time, and I would like to read as much lore as I can, and I hate the limited access time from the hacking. It there a way to mod it out without installing a ton of additional changes? I want mostly the vanilla experience.
