I spent maybe an hour on the first level and I can't believe how interactive and liberating the game is! The visuals may be dated but the game feels like it's taking place in "real" locations that are built like "real" locations.

Even the art style I think holds up! The rolling grey clouds and the beautiful city lights across the water led to my introduction to the game being extremely positive! I'd stop occasionally and just take in the great reflections on marble surfaces or the subtle lighting under lamps as I dart from shadow to shadow!

I'm hyped to continue playing :D

What are the goid deus ex games and which order should I play them?

I've never played deus ex (except ten minutes of mankind divided) should I play these games? I usually love to play games which provides solid gameplay and story.

Just beat Deus Ex for the first time. Loved it!

After reading a lot of posts, I did use the Community Update (GMDXv10). It was buggy and crashed a lot, but I still had a great time. I had played as far as the beginning of Hong Kong about ten years ago and thought I was halfway through, but this game is so much longer and worth every minute. What a variety of settings! I was almost all nonlethal, which was quite a challenge. I have HR on GoG and I'm looking forward to it.

Fun coincidence: my dad was a professor of the philosophy of religion and asked for a specific annotation of The Man Who Was Thursday for his birthday this year. I had never heard of it, but it shows up repeatedly in Deus Ex and we've been talking about how it relates to the game. I have lazily started listening to it on librevox. Despite the clear political parallels from the start, my dad says the religious content is primary. I bet there's a good conversation with Warren Specter there.

Are you supposed to have this many praxis kits after talking to Koller?

    Posted: 31 Oct 2020 04:01 PM PDT

I just started the game and played a couple of hours, I think I only had 2 kits before meeting him. Now I got 11, what the hell? What's the point of having so many this early? Is this normal or is it because I have some DLC installed (classic gear pack and the 3 DLC missions)?
