Tutorial: Get XP to Max Out Jensen's Augs in Prague during first visit!

    INTRO

    Deus Ex Mankind Divided:

This XP farming exploit is "in-game legal". It uses no external hacks, trainers, mods or other software. It is still possible as of today, 6 July 2021. My version is the Digital Deluxe Bundle bought for PC on Steam. I do not know if this works on other versions or platforms.

You do need to solve all side quests, and get all eBooks, etc, to gain your XP, but by doing those things together with the addition of this exploit, you can get up to around 20~30 additional praxis points in the first visit Prague, just in the Prekazka district (!!!) before you even take the subway to move on to Cista Ctvrt. Once you've gone to Cista Ctvrt and back, you could even max out all of Jensen's augs before you even go to Ruzicka station. It's that good.

Actual amount of Praxis points gained will vary depending on how careful you are to follow the working of the exploit.

    THE EXPLOIT MECHANIC

For those experienced, you will know about Armour Juggling to get XP. For those new to this, it basically means that when you shoot off a piece of armor from a turret/bot/armoured soldier, you get minor XP points. Then, as long as the original enemy is not dead, continuing to shoot the broken armor pieces on the floor will keep on giving you XP.

The trick then is to devise a system whereby you can shoot these pieces as much as possible. And it turns out that it is very possible to do this in the very early game once you begin in Prague.

    THE SUPER SPECIAL FARMING AREA

The secret lies in the hidden Zyme... uh... Neon lab in the Prekazka sewer. So convenient! The sewer entrance is right outside Jensen's apartment building, and a short underground distance from the ladder to boot.

Greeting you in the front lobby of the drug lab is a nice automated turret, who will unwittingly provide you with his armour plates for your XP farm.

    PREPARATIONS.

First you need to go visit Vaclav Koller and solve his Dvali problem so that you can get your aug system back in shape. After you rescue Vaclav, you should have 10~11 Praxis points to spend. Here are the essentials you need.

    1. Micro-Assembler, maxed out (3 praxis total) (yes, you do need either Tactical Pack DLC or Digital Deluxe Bundle, I got mine on Steam)

    2. Carry heavy things - Optimized Musculature (1 praxis total)

    3. Exploding Nanoblade, maxed out (3 praxis total)

    4. Turret Domination (1 praxis total)

    5. Hacking Capture Level 5 (Optional) (4 praxis total) (if you don't have enough praxis for this last item, you need two multitools on hand. you will lose out on the XP from hacking, but it's miniscule compared to the XP you'll gain anyway)

Now, go to the Neon lab, hack or multitool the door open, and sneak around the room to avoid the turret, until you can get behind it and use the computer there (by hack or multitool) to disable the turret.

Now observe, inside the room, next to the steps going upstairs, is a box in the corner. Carry the turret and place it on top of the box. In between the box and the stairs, there is a very small gap.

    https://preview.redd.it/swhqinxz0l971.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=4803c6db490bb649e1a81f45497fb48c7cfcfeff

Save first before attempting the next bit, so that you get the best results. Now, using a pistol or some gun, CAREFULLY shoot the armour plate of the turret, so that the plates fall into this narrow gap. Turn the turret around, and shoot the armour plate on the other side, to fall into the same gap. Reload your save if the armour plates don't fall nicely to your liking. The best is to get all pieces inside the gap.

    https://preview.redd.it/pe72ygh11l971.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=4bbd9a4e323142185668d725897457258397d377

Now, carry the turret and place it right on the other side of the room, or take it outside of the room completely. You must never let this turret die!

    FARMING IS HARD LABOUR

Now all that remains is for you to craft up every bit of scrap crafting parts into hundreds of Nanoblade ammo and continually shoot exploding blades into the gap, hitting the armour pieces. One single explosion can deliver 100~300 XP points, depending on the random ricochet of shrapnel across all the armour pieces trapped inside the gap. That's more than any kind of enemy in the entire game. Makes it totally worth the spend of one blade.

This can get tedious. To get 20 Praxis, let's say, you will need at least 100,000 XP, which is roughly around 500 nanoblades. You will need even more blades as the Praxis begins to cost more XP. So you may want to use an automated macro hotkey program, set it to press, hold, and release your nanoblade hotkey every 3 seconds, and go make a cup of hot cocoa and go take a nap or a stroll or do something else nice for the next half hour. Or you could just repeatedly press the same button like a zombie in front of your computer.

    https://preview.redd.it/gako0zt71l971.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=05f007956a572cc8cd169ed319e0070c5ffe41b3

    Do this 99999 times

COLLECTING CRAFTING PARTS IS ALSO HARD LABOUR

500 nanoblades, you say? That's about 63 cartridges (8-pack), each pack costs 52 crafting parts to build (with maxed assembler). So you'll need about 3000+ crafting parts. Each stack is 999 parts, so 4 stacks will do the trick. Of course, more crafting parts means even more Praxis as a result, so we want to maximise as much crafting parts as we can get.

So you need to turn every weapon and ammo box, and sellable scrap that you find into crafting parts! But wait, there's more...

Shooting the armour pieces with regular ammo also nets you XP... So, before you dismantle any weapon picked up, you should take it to your Super Special Farming Area, shoot off all its loaded ammo into the armour pieces, and then only dismantle the weapon.

Same goes for ammo boxes. Because the ammo box gives a flat rate of 10 crafting parts regardless of the ammo loaded inside, so it's better to spend what you can. Try to reload the ammo into a weapon so that the ammo box only has 1 or 2 ammo left inside it. Then only dismantle the ammo box.

Also, remember to go to Tars and buy weapons and ammo one by one, and continue the cycle. Turns out to be cheaper than buying Praxis kits if you do the math. How do I get money to buy from Tars if I'm not selling my weapons? I sell him all my beer and some Neuropozyne.

So the general formula is this:

    1) Pick up all possible weapons

    2) Pick up all possible ammunition

    3) Shoot the ammunition into the armor pieces. Get XP

    4) Do not reload all ammo into the weapon. When the ammunition box is down to 1 or 2 rounds, dismantle the ammo box for crafting parts.

    5) When the weapon is empty, dismantle the weapon for crafting parts.

    6) Accumulate lots of crafting parts and make as many Explosive Nanoblades as possible.

    7) Fire all your Explosive Nanoblades into the pile of armor pieces, getting more XP

    8) Rinse and repeat the entire process for every weapon that you can pick up or buy in the area until you have totally spent all your crafting parts.

NOTE: As you can see, this is not a "quick hack"... It requires a lot of work to be put in, mainly in the form of running back and forth around the game map, picking up and dropping items repeatedly. But in terms of complexity, it is easier than trying to hack multiple terminals or trying to find all the possible hidden areas for EXP boosts. It is time consuming and boring.

The following are further detailed notes, not essential, just additional nitpicking. So I'll hide them as spoilers.

    THE PLAYSTYLE:

You will need to play in a way that conserves ammunition as much as possible, since you will he hoarding the ammunition for the purpose of shooting armor pieces. Using stealth and takedowns seems to be the best way. First visit Prekazka is not too difficult.

HOW TO PICK UP WEAPONS AND AMMO:

You also want to be very careful to keep all weapons and ammo boxes separate. This is the most annoying and tedious part of this exploit, and it is what causes you to run around so much. Never pick up multiple weapons of the same type, as this would cause them to turn into ammo and stack up in your inventory. Never pick up multiple boxes of the same ammo as well, as this would cause all the ammo to stack into one box too.

We do not want the weapons to change to ammo and stack because dismantling an ammo box only gives 10 crafting parts, but dismantling the weapon can give you 30-50 crafting parts, which allows you to make more Nanoblades. Same idea goes for not stacking ammo boxes. If you have two separate boxes, that gives you 10 crafting parts for dismantling each box, but stacking boxes together in your inventory reduces down to one box for you to dismantle.

So whenever you takedown an enemy, his weapon will fall to the floor. Do not pick it up. Also you need to open your inventory and dump any ammo boxes you have on the ground. Then you search the enemy's body and take the ammo on his person, then you open your inventory again and dump the newly acquired ammo on the ground too. Tedious? Frustrating? Time consuming? Yes. But if you want to maximise the fullness of this exploit, you need to do this.
