DXVetery, a short, yet unique, Deus Ex mod has been found!

    Posted: 15 Jul 2021 10:18 PM PDT

DXVetery, while not as grand as our previous find, Invisible War Revised, was recently found!

Now this was never truly lost, in the saying that it was never properly released, it's just that the installer on the Moddb page was not a true installer at all! It instead connected to a now non-existent server to then download the files.

    Well, how was this found?

I was scrolling through the files tab on Moddb, looking for a Deus Ex mod to try out, when I came across DXVetery. The installer didn't work, so I asked around in the Deus Ex Community HQ Discord Server if anyone had it. And Lo and Behold, /u/defaultplayer001 still had it on their computer!

The mod was fully intact, though only I had problems with the exe.

The only thing I did change was fixing the very weird audio leveling going on with the intro song.

    So what's the mod about?

It's a sequel to the Helios Ending. The uniqueness of the mod comes from two things. A "God Implant" where you can code your own augmentations with LUA and a dynamic soundtrack that can detect certain actions, such as lockpicking. Oh! And you can tame Greasels!!

The LUA augmentation I think is very groundbreaking! There's a video on the Moddb page that teaches you how to use it and everything. Hell, this could be used for programming classes!

Anyways, here's the files and the Moddb page. Oh wait! There's some dev docs in the Help folder (which were taken from the now defunct website), along with a Readme if the game doesn't launch correctly.

Just put the DXVetery folder in you're DeusEx folder and you're ready to go!

    Can't get into Mankind Divided

    Posted: 15 Jul 2021 10:17 PM PDT

Recently bought Deus ex Mankind Divided. I haven't played any other deus ex game ever, so I have no idea how these games are, but I just find it hard to enjoy Mankind Divided. Firstly, there is lack of inventory space, like this is the first game I've played where guns do not have separate slots. Then, I'm getting overheated every time...I stole a caliberator for a SM, but I can't use it. Then, although the game gives a choice between stealth and action, 90% of the time, stealth is heavily encouraged, with many vents, locks etc. but since ammo is scarce, guns are rarely favourable. Need some encouragement or tips to help me continue

What did you choose when you played the game for the first time and why?
