Anybody else have no idea what’s going on? Posted: 08 Apr 2021 06:57 AM PDT I may get downvoted a lot here, but does anyone else playing these games not have any idea what's going on in the story? I love the stealth gameplay, I love the pace, doing things the way I want to, finding hidden paths, I treat each room and location like a little puzzle... I love these games... I've completed them all multiple times... no other stealth games scratch my itch, except splinter cell but that's on hiatus too... ...but I genuinely couldn't tell you anything about the story... am I alone in this way of playing? Also, anyone who enjoys the stealth knows of any other games I should try? [link] [comments]
Deus Ex GOTY still screen tearing even with Kentie's launcher and DX10 Posted: 08 Apr 2021 01:10 PM PDT The other day I bought a pretty meager PC (AMD 770, X4 845, 10gb RAM) purely to play the small handful of older games I like on, mainly Morrowind, Fallout 1-NV and Deus Ex. Before I even opened Deus Ex GOTY (gog copy), I installed Kenties Deus EXE launcher as I have done with every fresh install of Deus Ex since I can remember. I've always used OpenGL, so that's what I've been using. Even so, I had some awful screen tearing issues with it. After a little while messing around last night, I managed to completely stop the screen tearing. I used Direct3D (not Direct 3D 10, just normal Direct 3D and it worked flawlessly, no weird render issues or inability to adjust brightness), capped the FPS to 60 and it was golden. It was a fresh install of Windows 10, so I updated it overnight and tonight go to play Deus Ex and guess what? Deus Ex is totally fucked, all the problems I remember having with it back in the day, brightness cannot be adjusted, weird render issues etc. Annoyingly, it's STILL the only renderer that DOESN'T screen tear! Shame it's borderline unplayable due to the darkness. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried pretty much everything. Every renderer including Direct3D 10, every FPS cap you can think of (even capping the FPS to 20 doesn't stop the tearing). Obviously the Windows update I did fucked with Direct3D in some way so if anyone has a download link for whatever version of the Direct3D driver or whatever comes with Windows 10 Professional, that would probably solve my issue. I'd like to use Direct3D or Direct3D 10 purely because OpenGL looks like shit frankly. I just want the screen tearing to go away lol. PS I've tried everything I could find on Steam forums and whatnot that you get from a quick Google search. Nothing has worked. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Apr 2021 12:01 AM PDT Is it possible to ghost all the levels in the first Deus Ex game? I haven't seen any videos on it so I was wondering [link] [comments]
Ok. This one is going to be a bit niche, but i still wonder what your answer will be Posted: 08 Apr 2021 11:58 AM PDT Which one these Deus Ex Mothership Loudspeakers remixes you like the most? https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLY29S6VAr7ylhQc0pYMPmjrSlJVbUXhFF [link] [comments]
Are some side quests easily missable depending on dialogue choices? Posted: 08 Apr 2021 06:06 AM PDT I just started the game and when stopped at one of the checkpoints, I was given the option to bribe the guard or try to talk with the supervisor. I chose to talk with the supervisor. When I got there, I was given another option to bribe that guard or sneak through or attack. I snuck through and found the supervisor undetected. Turned out she was just a girl who originally forged IDs for free for people in need until intimidating others caught on and decided to make a profit out of it. And then there were like three following choices about whether or not she's the bad guy or victim in this situation and then I was given the option to agree if her forging ways were right for those in need or if she should drop it all together and I was really considering picking drop it all together. Nevertheless, I picked it's good for those in need and then she brought this whole other topic about there are two people who need it and ask for me to help and I've chose to help and then BAM! I have a whole new side quest about helping these two civilians get their forged IDs! Are the odds of that happening super unlikely? If I dropped the conversation or told her she was doing the wrong thing would I never have gotten that side quest? Because it looks like it's so easy to miss certain side quests just by dialogue choices that don't seem like they'll make that much of an impact. [link] [comments]
Where can I find a proper summary for the whole deus ex series(mainly DEHR/MD)? Posted: 08 Apr 2021 03:23 AM PDT I just finished DEMD for the second time, but would like to get more backstory on DE, so where can I find a proper summary for the series? [link] [comments] |
