Is there a compilation of all readable material in DXMD?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 04:45 PM PDT

I played the game a dozen times and the last couple of times I tried to focus on reading every single peace of readable material I could get my augs on: emails, pocket secretaries, ebooks, news outlets… but Deus Ex being Deus Ex (and lazy me being laz me) I probably missed a lot of content along the way. Has anyone bothered to make some kind of compilation of all text content in the game?

One datastore is not connected to any node apart from the red one, but if I hack the red node, hacking is over. Any idea how to get this datastore?

Read Icarus Effect first or after HR?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 11:02 PM PDT

Already played HR and MD and I just finished my first playthrough of DX1 and I'm planning to replay the before mentioned again to get all the lore

IE takes place in the middle of HR and idk if I should play first the game and then read the book or what?

What would a Deus Ex developed by Arkane look like?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 03:29 PM PDT

With all the talk about the state of the franchise, I thought I'd try something fun:

Let's say the year is 2007. In an alternate reality, Arkane announces Deus Ex 3 (working title) instead of Eidos Montreal. Eidos Montreal doesn't play any part in this, and the only DX games at this point are 1 and IW (no Adam Jensen in this timeline, sorry). How different would Arkane's approach be to this franchise? Also, assume that Arkane somehow got the rights to Deus Ex

A few things I thought of:

    • Their Deus Ex would more likely be in 100% first-person. No cover system or third-person animations
    • Melee combat (like attacking, blocking) would be included
    • Dialogue system, if it exists, would probably be simpler than Eidos Montreal's

How different would their approach be in terms of the worldbuilding, level design, other gameplay mechanics, etc.?

    Help figuring out a motive

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 06:30 PM PDT

Hello, and I apologize if the flair is wrong or if a post like this isn't allowed but I thought I'd ask.

So, I have an idea that crosses Deus Ex with another series. They'd be on Earth and the characters of the series would be in a megacity like Golem.

The Illuminati, Augmentations and other core features to the series would be central to the story.

The problem I have is that I have no idea how to get Adam to go to that city. I know he's an TF29 agent so maybe they send him there on a case but I'm unsure.

Again, I apologize if this isn't allowed I just thought I'd ask.

Discussion Regarding The Impact of Lethality On Storyline (HR, HR:DC, MD)

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 10:01 AM PDT

Considering how the only noticeable consequences of playing using a lethal rather than nonlethal style is a rather insignificant loss of an XP bonus, should Human Revolutions and Mankind Divided have had a Chaos system similar to the Dishonored Series, where the optimism of the ending is affected by both your choices in dialogue and by how many people you kill and objects you destroy?

NOTE: In Human Revolutions I am certain that lethality towards civilians affect how much Jensen states that he "retained his humanity", but their is no significant impact from enemy kills in general. I am not sure about Mankind Divided.

SIDENOTE: Also, what are your thoughts on the inclusion of a performance breakdown after every "level" would have been be helpful in terms of stealth, items found, enemies killed, credits acquired, alternate pathways found, doors opened, alarms triggered, bodies found, detections, etc?

If anybody has knows of a lethality influence on storyline that I am missing from either HR and MD feel free to comment.

I am interested to hear your thoughts.
