Mankind Divided is one of the best games I've ever played. Posted: 21 Dec 2020 06:41 PM PST Ok, I'm really late to the party, I know. But I'm really excited and I need to talk to someone about my experience. Also, English is not my first language, so please bear with me. I bought this game around 3 years ago. Played the first mission, liked it, but at the time, it just didn't clicked with me. Which is odd because I'm a huge fan of Immersive Sins/Stealth games in general. Throughout the years, I always saw it being praised by people. So I finally decided to give it another shot some days ago. And man... What a game! I fucking loved it more than I imagined I would. And I just couldn't stop playing it. I went out of my way to explore EVERYTHING and to do all of the side missions. It took a really long time, but it was so worth it... So many cool moments, so many great characters. So many little details that you might miss if you don't pay attention... It felt so good to play as Adam. Trying to ghost my way through the levels, unlocking new cool powers, discovering powerful weapons, using my skills to persuade people, robbing literally all of the vaults inside a fucking bank and so on. Prague is really well built. I think it is one of the best "open worlds" in gaming. It is not vast by any means. But what it lacks in size, it compensates in freedom, immersion and convenience. Every inch has something interesting to do or find. And the game constantly rewards the player for exploring. Very few other games made me stop to read notes, emails and so on. But aside from the hub, the missions are also expertly crafted. Although the mechanics work really well, I really wish the stealth was a little harder and that the Augments had more drawbacks. After fully unlocking the Biocell capacity and fully upgrading the invisibility skill, the stealth sections kinda lost part of the tension. Also, in my opinion, at the end the enemies should know your weaknesses and should adapt their approach to make it harder for the player. Like the enemies in Arkham City that use jammers to mess with Batman's X-ray vision, for example. I never played a Deus Ex game before. So I'm not sure how it compares to the other ones. But, from my perspective, analyzing the campaign, I must say that it's not the best story I've played. In some moments the narrative just lacks impact and sometimes it's hard to feel a sense of urgency. On top of that, it was kinda hard for me to keep track of so many names and abbreviations. Although I must say that the underlying plot about the Augmented apartheid was really interesting and somewhat profound. Having the freedom to choose throughout the campaign also helped made the story more personal and meaningful. For example, SPOILERS, discovering that I could both save the delegates and stop Marchenko before the bomb went off made me feel like a fucking super hero. This game in general made me feel that my actions contributed to something. And for me those are the areas where the game shines. The way it keeps the player engaged, planning every step and dialogue. The addictive gameplay loops when the plan you created in your head works. The badass moments, the subtle details in its world, the way it stimulates exploration and experimentation. And more importantly, the freedom to choose. [link] [comments]

[SPOILERS] Confused about ending of first mission of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Posted: 21 Dec 2020 03:53 PM PST Sorry if I'm being stupid, but I tried replaying this game (which I really liked & Finished quitea few years ago when I probably didn't understand much of it) and upon reaching the 'boss' of the first mission where I have to recover the Typhoon from those so-called terrorists, I found myself confused as Adam was saying things to him like 'someone used your brother' and I don't even know who his brother is/was.. was it that guy who connected himself to the Typhoon or whatever that was? I thought that guy was only part of the boss' crew and was augmented without the latter knowing that. What did I miss that it all felt so confusing? I even read (I think) all the e-mails and stuff I could find on the computers / e-books. I should mention I delayed going on this mission since I wanted to explore and lost the hostages.. Does anyone know where to get Deus Ex: Fallen Angel? Posted: 21 Dec 2020 11:44 AM PST I've tried the publisher's website, the authors website, and searched all over various digital bookstores. No dice. Trying to revisit various media connected to the series, but coming up blank on this one. [link] [comments]

About to play Original Deus Ex for the first time. Would appreciate some advice. Posted: 21 Dec 2020 02:23 PM PST I know a few basic tips like not to build a fighter character. And I know that there is some sort of Illuminati, but little of the plot beyond that. Character Build advice or guild would be appreciated. Want to get the most from the story rather than the best combatant. Also looking for some mods that might improve the graphics, but don't want any that would alter the plot. Thank you in advance [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Dec 2020 12:27 AM PST I've recently purchased DEHR Director's Cut version and I feel pretty disappointed by it, considering the poor optimization, such as frequent lag and stutter all over the place, the game capping at lower framerates and faulty lighting effects (though truth be told, the last one doesn't bother me as much). Yet, while researching my problems, I've come to the realization that there's usually a handful of people on every post telling the OP that DC, despite describing itself as the upgrade to the original game, is inferior and doesn't improve the game much, other than stuffing the DLC before the last mission and adding commentary. Now I want to ask you guys, should I purchase the vanilla version of the game? I know I could get it on Square Enix's site, but is it worth purchasing it again? [link] [comments] |
