Deus Ex: Transcended - Same Feel, Refined Posted: 27 Nov 2020 07:59 PM PST Built largely for first timer players, Deus Ex: Transcended is a mod focused solely around faithfulness to the original, while bringing an unmatched arsenal of bug fixes, paired with key notes of Quality of Life changes. For most all purposes, it'll play identical to the original, without any substantial changes to balance and no changes to assets, be they map, model, or sound. Virtually all changes outside of pure bug fixing are entirely configurable, allowing for the user to stay even closer the original in every possible way, should they choose it. [link] [comments]
Speculations on the trilogy finale (spoilers) Posted: 27 Nov 2020 08:28 PM PST I thought of some ideas for what the sequel to DX MD might be like. Let me know your thoughts or if I'm off on any details -- The timeline for the trilogy's finale will be 2034 - 2035. The game ends with Bob Page's coup. Adam's fate is unknown, but being that Everett, Dowd, DeBeers, Page, & Manderley are still alive by the time of DX1 (2052), I assume Adam dies or is somehow integrated into Daedalus similar to JC with Helios. Adam will discover Volkard Rand's identity as Janus. This will inadvertently tip off Delara, which leads to Volkard's murder. Another theory is that Bob Page is actually Janus, though it seems more probable that Janus being murdered, coupled with the council's string of failures from 2027 - 2035, will be the seeds sown for Bob Page/Majestic 12 to gain control over the Illuminati in 2035. Delara Auzenne is actually Elizabeth Duclare, who dies in 2051 just previous to DX1. Her daughter Nicolette is born in 2035 of unknown paternity. It's a stretch, but if the game were set in 2034 - 2035 then Adam could be the father (potential love interest or something DNA related). This may be an odd addition if you take the final scene of A Criminal Past into account. Everett & Dowd assist JC in DX1, & it goes without saying that they gradually grew to disapprove of Page, but I think some exchange between Everett & Eliza Cassan might be telling being hes the CEO of Picus & later worked on Daedalus. The theme of a benevolent AI fits with both Cassan & Daedalus. Around this time it's more than likely that Savage, Megan Reed, & other VersaLife types (owned by Page) have a hand in early Gray Death prototypes such as Orchid. Providing a bit more closure for Reed's character, as well as following up on the Savage cameo from A Missing Link, could be cool. The passing of the torch from Tong Si Hong to Tracer could also be interesting to see, though at this point I doubt how substantial his role would be given his relatively young age. In essence the finale will be the bridge to DX1, so I naturally expect a few more setups & references to it. This colored most of my predictions up above [link] [comments]

Does crouching really decrease walking sound? Posted: 27 Nov 2020 07:43 AM PST I understand that it is just a game, and an incredible game, butI have been thinking whether the game design that crouching can "dramatically" decrease sound is true in real life. I've tried myself and cannot really tell the difference. Has anyone done that too? [link] [comments]

Question regarding "The Golden Ticket" and a later side mission Posted: 27 Nov 2020 02:56 AM PST Spoilers ahead, obviously. I decided to help Edward in The Golden Ticket and as a result met Irenka in Golem, no confusion there... Later on however I did the "K is for Kazdy" mission, and who did I meet in a cell Prague? Irenka Bauer! How did she get out of Golem? She never explains it or even talks about the permit. Is this a bug or something, or was the quest meant to be before you go to Golem? I really want to like this game but it's broken and unplayable. Can I just start with Invisible War? Posted: 27 Nov 2020 01:54 PM PST I like old games that inspired new games like Half-Life and Fallout for example. So I figured I would really like Deus Ex since it is a lot of people's favorite game. I bought the game on steam yesterday and started playing it today. It took me like 30 minutes to get the game to start which is fine because it's an old game. But as soon as I started the game I noticed that the dialogue was all cut off so I couldn't hear or read any of their full lines. Once the game started I noticed that all of the controls were weird so since I couldn't play the tutorial I googled the controls since there's no complete controls menu in the settings and they seem so unnatural. So I walked into the first area and it told me to stun the enemies instead of killing them but nothing actually happens when I try to use the stun device. I used the gun instead but for some reason, I was only given 12 bullets. The sniper rifle is apparently not a one-hit kill for headshots so instead, it was just really loud. The pistol also ran out of ammo quickly so I basically had to just use the knife, so I kept dying quickly. But also when I die my game gets stuck and my only choice is to restart the game. I also noticed that after I restarted the game, from what I could see of the cutscene, it was completely different. But I really want to like this game. I've seen people say it's better than half-life but it just doesn't seem like it. I don't know if I'm just doing something wrong. Can I just skip Deus Ex 1 and move on to Invisible War?
