    First time playing Deus Ex (first one), any mods that don't drastically change the game?

    Hey there, I recently grabbed deus ex from steam since it was on sale. I'm really excited to play, since I have heard A LOT of good things, but I have also heard the game has some game breaking stuff and all. Are there any mods that patch these things out without really changing the original feel? I have been looking around and found GMDX as well as Enhanced, but I'm not sure if the gameplay will be affected. Any suggestions?

    Still holds up

    My memory isn't that great I played it on the xbox 360 when it came out the only thing I remember is that I loved it. Saw it on sale on steam was like let's try it and see if its holds up and holy shit it was even better than I remember I loved everything from voice acting gameplay abilities and the choices are something else I definitely want more of this.

    Also replying mankind divided any tips to optimize it for me would appreciate it my pc 2700x 5700xt ram 16g cl14 I tried dx12 keeps crushing stuck at loading screen unless I set the affinity to half the cores which is crazy seeing why the game didn't do well I remember the pre orders bonuses such a shame.

    Seeking mobile twin stick solution for Deus Ex the original

    Before we start, I understand many players insist on a keyboard. I know the general view is that a controller does not have sufficient buttons to play Deus Ex. On my last play I found a way that I thought worked fine, though, so, I do not want to start a debate here on how appropriate twin stick controllers are for Deus Ex.

    Okay, so, I want to play Deus Ex at a reasonable frame rate on a mobile device.

    The screen must be smaller than 6 inches diagonal regardless of aspect ratio.

    I have thought of these options.

    • GPD Win or Win 2 would work right away but these are rather expensive for the goal of a 20 year old game
    • X86 phone running an old version of Windows such as 98SE and an Ipega or Razr phone controller
    • Android phone running an X86 emulator and a Windows environment again with a phone controller
    • Nvidia Shield Portable running X86 emulator and a Windows environment

    Aside from the first one, I doubt any of these will result in a playable rate for the game. I do not really want to spend $849 for this project. I literally only want to play Deus Ex mobile. Eventually I may try other games but, my sights are not unrealistic. This game is ancient but amazing and I need to play it on the bus and at the coffee shop.

    I am seeking any and all suggestions no matter how outlandish. If you know of something like the GPD Win available in Taiwan for a quarter the price, I want to know, too. If you know of an old portable windows based game system that I can find used somewhere, please tell me. If you know of any available X86 based device with a 6 inch or smaller screen, not a 7 inch tablet, I really would love to hear about it. Something somewhere must exist which runs Deus Ex on a 6 inch screen.
