[Mankind Divided] - I just finished it and I think it's a masterpiece (Spoiler-free quick review) Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:46 AM PDT Hello everyone. First of all, context: When the game got out in 2016, there were zero chances I could play it. My computer was old, barely capable of running Human Revolution and playing this game seemed like a dream. After working for an entire year, I was able to buy a PC with specs enough to run this game in low res and to buy it, I had to use a lent credit card. But it was definitely worth it. After seeing post like this one, I don't understand why Mankind Divided is getting seen as a "wasted potential" or a "bad game compared to the prequel". The game is amazing! First of all, the gameplay was amazing and every time I had to think before acting, not because I was limited but because I had so many choices: Bribe the guard to get in? Knock him out and hide the body? Throw something to distract him? Getting through an air vent? Hacking a turret to kill him? Even something as mundane as opening a door had multiple paths to be done. And about Adam's habilities, it also felt neat. We had some old features, like hacking, but we had new augs to introduce innovation. The graphics were also awesome. Everything has such a high level of detail, that it had me shocked. The places you visit are so beautiful, that sometimes, I stopped playing to appreciate the landscapes. The design of Prague is so nice, that I definitely want to go there one day. And the constrast of seeing the city at day and at night was brilliant, because it let us see cyberpunk at both stages. As a sidenote: I was blown away by the graphics, and just before the first time I left Prague, I went to the Graphics Settings and realized I was playing the game in low res. So with a high end PC, it should look even nicer. I don't pay much attention to the sound as I know many of you do, but they were good. The sound of the weapons don't sound fake, the music was extremely good in average during the game and the voices of the characters were top notch. The level design is very well made, there wasn't a map I didn't like or felt frustrated about. And well, the story. It's very different from what we saw in Human Revolution and it has lots of plot holes, but I think that one of the things that make this game series so cool is that they don't feed you the plot with a spoon. You have to fill the holes by yourself, with what you learn and that's very nice. I think it's not worth to compare this game to Human Revolution or to the Original game of the series, because each game it's very good in their own. And yes, it felt like it was too short, but I felt this was the demostration of quality above quality and because of that. I expect more games to be added to this series. After all, I love Cyberpunk and games like this are such a fantastic source of inspiration, that I feel like I can't find a big flaw in it. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]
Can Modders make a full fledged Deus Ex Game? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 03:20 PM PDT Similar to How modders managed to create the Outstandinf Black Mesa game from Half life I'm curious if theres a position for modders to create a Deus Ex game? I personally feel this would be even better than a mainstream published entry imo. How does the community view a Mod created Deus ex game to finish loose storylines and simply recapture the essence of deus ex? [link] [comments]
Is Deus Ex the Conspiracy comparable to the Classic PC Version? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 03:27 PM PDT I've played the OG hundreds of times with keyboard and mouse. I want to try it with a PS3 controller, but not if it's a watered-down experience. The UI looks a bit different... Wondering if anyone here has played both and can comment before a buy a copy. Questions from a newbie to HRDC Posted: 06 Sep 2020 02:41 PM PDT Since I didn't see a question megathread asking in a thread of my own. My idea is doing something along the lines of pacifist / full neutralization run. So no killing if I can help it, but also don't leave things like bots that could be activated behind me. With this is mind 2 questions regarding arsenal: What guns to take / mod? And apparently there is an equipment loss/recovery from what was once the missing link DLC. Which apparently is buggy and some stuff doesn't come back. How do I avoid getting smacked by that bug? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Sep 2020 10:39 AM PDT This is just incredibly annoying and perhaps even rude. Honestly it disappointed me even more than the abrupt ending itself. [link] [comments] |
