Hello everyone and welcome to the monthly /r/DeusEx community thread!

This is a place to chill whenever you like, post feedback, ask questions that you don't think warrant a new thread, or just get that burning DX1 meme out of your system. It is okay to go off-topic, however other rules still apply - please be nice to the other users and use a spoiler tag if needed.

Question of the Month: Between the dodgy weather and the pandemic, we all deserve a few moments of rest. Share your favourite cyberpunk related media with us - the Deus Ex-ier, the better!

Is this a new augment ability?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 06:25 PM PDT

Holy shit, f**k Megan Reed, I hate her so much.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 04:37 AM PDT

Literally, it is pretty much alluded to that she "accidentally" helped Bob Page create the Gray Death with the Orchid in MD. It is fact though that she, once again, "accidentally" helped out Hugh Darrow to start the Aug Incident in HR, providing the chaos that the Illuminati wants. Finally, in the end credits of HR, Page meets with her to work on the "D(enton) Project". JC and Paul can now thank the bitch Megan for their lives being ruined by Bob Page and Majestic 12.

I remade Adam Jensen's office from Human Revolution

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 09:29 AM PDT

    Hey there folks!

So the last month I have been working on recreating Adams office from Human Revolution. I chose it because I found the office to feel a bit big/small, depending on how you look at it and wanted to have a go at it.

I made a blue version, because I think it just fit better, but I also made a orange/gold version and a gold-er version =)

    Hope you like it!

    Deus Ex GMDX performance

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:25 PM PDT

My pc is fairly powerful nd i really think it should run this game completely finethe thing is, when i enter the first level, when i look towards the statue, framerate drops under 20. Under 20???!?!?!. however, i did get it to run somewhat smoothly by disabling new vision, though it still stutters, i'm loving the game by the way, got it for about $0.99 yesterday, it's amazing, but i could really use some help, because it becomes unbearable with new vision and i want the game to look better.

So in theory, if I had an augmented digestive system, could someone hack it and give me constipation?

I let Singh die in the first mission of the game, does that prevent me from getting pacifist?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 06:34 PM PDT

I'm trying to do a pacifist playthrough for the trophy, so I went through Dubai shooting enemies with the tranq gun and knocking them out. I made sure to not throw any of the enemies so they wouldn't die without me knowing, but I didn't get the pacifist XP bonus at the end, only Ghost and Getting Things Done. I didn't even touch any of the terrorists at the end. Could it be because I didn't rescue Singh?

I've wanted to play original Deus Ex for years, but every time I start it, combat is waaaay too clunky and I end up quitting.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 12:30 PM PDT

I've had this experience in the past, where I started other games such as Fallout 2 or Morrowind few times and quit after the first combat sequences because it was horrible. In the case of Fallout 2 it is the first thing you do, the damn ants in the temple are a skillcheck already and really deter you from playing as a noob. Years later I actually had someone tell me to put some points in melee, strength or something (can't remember, its been ages) and was able to get through those first combat areas, which got me hooked up and ended up completing the game fully.

Similar thing has happened to me with Deus Ex the few times I've tried to play it. I start it, have an awful experience in the "tutorial" area where everything I do in combat fails and I end up uninstalling. I really want to play through Deus Ex again and give it a fair try. Is there anything you would recommend to a begginer that makes combat more bearable in the beggining? I can't remember if it has skillpoints or attributes to select when you start, but what should I avoid/focus on at first?

How do the beeps work, because it feels random.

How to remove New Vision textures in GMDX

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 02:12 AM PDT

Hey all! Wanted to ask how exactly do I remove the New Vision textures, so that I could have vanilla instead. Removing the New Vision textures folder does nothing because it will automatically insert itself into the GMDX folder upon booting up the game.
