Does anyone else feel like Hengsha, one of three main hub worlds in DE:HR, was a lot more fun to explore than Midgar, the entire map of FFVII remake?

Remote hacking from a distance in MD may be one of my favourite powers in the entire franchise.

    Posted: 17 May 2020 02:14 AM PDT

I'm not crazy far into MD, but I've heavily played the other games many times.

But I don't think I've felt such a power trip as when I can walk into a heavily fortified bank and remotely shutdown lasers, cameras and even robots with the flick of a finger.

Even being able to easily shut off the seemingly thousands of television sets (which always seem to play Picus and nothing else) has quickly become extremely addictive.

It makes me kind of side with the anti-aug protestors just a little, because when people like Jensen have power like that, it does kind of shatter basically anything that can be kept safe electronically.

For me as a player though...all hail the mighty Adam Jensen!!!

My favorite mission in Deus Ex 1 is the first Versalife mission (spoilers)

    Posted: 17 May 2020 06:28 AM PDT

This mission is the only one in the game that lets you be a cyberpunk James Bond. I can't really think of many other games period similar to this where you can blend in with the enemy, chat with them, eavesdrop on them, hack their computers, spy on them, steal their secrets, and then either quietly leave or shoot your way out, except for the better Hitman games and the party level from Dishonored 1. It also feels like something from William Gibson (the whole game is inspired by him, but this mission in particular feels like a chapter of a Sprawl novel), or a Shadowrun mission. You can also try to recreate the lobby shootout scene in the beginning (one of my favorite fights in the game if I'm playing a gunslinger), then play it James Bond once you're down the elevator. You also get the Cloak aug there, so you can make a quiet escape once you've stolen the sword and alarmed the building (hopefully you've saved the upgrade canisters from Sam's armory and the Canal Road Tunnel). Other games in missions allow you to spy on the enemy, but this one feels so natural and immersive. I always look forward to this the most when replaying the game.

What's your favorite mission in the game, and why?

    Reactions to your actions

    Posted: 17 May 2020 08:04 AM PDT

Hello, I'm replaying DXHR, always go pacifist and ghost. While I was playing, a thought came to mind. What are the reactions from the NPC's to your choices? More specifically, what is the dialogues that they give you? Is there any place where people have collected what people say about you?

It would be cool to know how much the game gives you credit/discredit for everything that you did. After doing the Sarif Plant thingy and coming back to HQ, I checked on multiple NPCs and one mentions that "thanks to you not much bloodshed occured". Which makes me wonder, couldve you have done something for him to say no bloodshed occured? Just an example.

Tried looking on the Deus Ex Wiki but doesn't seem have that of what I've searched.

Short recap of the start of MD?

    Posted: 17 May 2020 11:08 AM PDT

I'm about 5 hours in, about to do something with a Pilot and Golem city. Basecly I have found out I'm kinda retarded and got huge issues with legit following a story, like I can't remember for shit or focus properly ( Possibly because of ADD).

Is there some way to recap what's going on? Haven't played the older games. The main story so far seems to be finding out who was behind the train station bombing and who the mercs that attacked us in the first mission was. Now it seeming like Miller's boss set up the first thing and now blames the two cases on someone else.

Also there is basecly humans and humans with cybertech. There is conflict between the two because two years ago suddenly a ton of the cyber people butchered normal humans. Like Dubai a ton of people died.

Idk if I'm right about this

How do I get both NV and HDTP to work together?

    Posted: 17 May 2020 05:56 AM PDT

I installed NV first and then HDTP, but then when I run through Kenties launcher, I get a glitch like this:

I've setup my data files according to this:

How do I install both mods so they work harmoniously together? Also, I tried the latest NV mod, but that had a glitch whereby the skybox was outlined by a faint white line, along with the buildings too. It looked too distracting to bother with.

    Thanks in advance!
