Posted: 19 May 2020 07:49 PM PDT I love a good evil corporate mastermind, and Page is one of the very best. He's smug whenever he can, charming when he needs to be and always completely on the brink of total insanity. I particularly enjoy basically the entirety of him in area 51, when he just pivots between God-like delusions of grandeur and desperate begging for Denton to stop ruining his plans. As a wider character, I really enjoy how Page actually had to claw his way up to villainy. He wasn't just handed a global conspiracy to run, he had to work his way up, carefully pick his moments of rebellion and essentially rebuild the organization in his image. It's also refreshing that Page (to my knowledge) never makes a defense for his plans. No "I'm doing this to save the world" or stuff like that. Page knows his evil and doesn't care what you think, because he can just manufacture a pandemic to kill you. Lastly, I'm especially happy that Page kept his voice actor in the prequels (with the actor cleverly even raising the pitch of his voice a little to make Page seem younger). To me, a story is only as great as it's antagonist, and Page was a damn enjoyable one. [link] [comments]

(Kind of) First time getting into OG Deus Ex. Tips? Posted: 19 May 2020 09:27 PM PDT As someone who has only played Human Revolution (loved it) and Mankind Divided (bit lukewarm), I've always wanted to try out the original game as I've seen so much praise about its story and other things, but was turned off when I first tried it out as an impatient preteen. Now that I'm older I want to give the game the proper playthrough it deserves but wanted to get some heads up/beginner tips before I dive in. As the game is almost 20 years old I expected some jank and some confusing mechanics and wanted a rundown on what to expect/what to do. Thanks in advance, and I'm greatly looking forward to playing through this gem. [link] [comments]

Question about vault cards (Spoilers) Posted: 19 May 2020 07:28 AM PDT Hi, I know there's 4 vault cards to find for additional lore, etc. I know one is directed to in a main mission and another is found in a sidequest area, but how does the game direct me to the picus card and tarvos security card and picus cards? I've looked up the locations on the internet, but I'd like to know how the game itself directs you to them? [link] [comments]
Best graphical mod combination for Deus Ex GOTY? Posted: 19 May 2020 03:21 AM PDT I'm looking for a way to spruce up my Deus Ex GOTY experience this time around. I've heard about New Vision and HDTP. Are there others that you can suggest that work well with the two above? Did anybody here heard about Helios Texture Overhaul? Would it work well with the two mods mentioned above? https://www.moddb.com/mods/helios-texture-overhaul Also I'm only looking for graphical and texture enhancements. I'm not looking for any mods which change plot or overall gameplay mechanics. [link] [comments] |
