Posted: 09 Apr 2020 04:24 AM PDT NOTE: A lot of political, conspiratorial and philosophical stuff bellow I replayed Deus Ex for a third time in a row recently and it was by far the best experience I had with the game. But then again I realised why I played it, it was because we are now self-quarantining because of a virus that had its origins in China. In Deus Ex, the plot revolves around a disastrous plague that was manufactured by a wealthy American in Hong Kong that spread across the world. This was the best time to play it and the fact that Deus Ex has predicted enough in today's world is just shocking and surprising. I did not expect a game from 2000 to some how visualise an epidemic which forces governments to shut down the streets, this is some twilight zone shit right here that is surreal but its happening right now. In the game, the first major character (NSF commander) tells you that the plague was made to control the population growth. A lot of conspiracies are currently rising talking about it controlling the population growth but I don't know if that is true or not. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, who knows. But I think while the coronavirus stuff is surreal as it is, I feel like the Morpheus conversation is by far the most accurate. There is no doubt that a majority of what Morpheus has to say is true. I just want to start off by focusing on Morpheus' point that "human beings feel pleasure when being watched" and nowadays everyone is on social media posting pictures of themselves just to gain likes and a following, we really do feel pleasure when being watched. Morpheus also says that "fame" is the new way that humans are worshipping (we haven't achieved the technological part yet as that is more futuristic) and I highly agree with this. In today's world everyone will worship an opinion leader whether it be a celebrity or political figure. Whats even crazier is that tik tok is essentially the worship of "famous" individuals, and this app has been on the rise in recent years. Political ideologies are also tied to this. All of this leftist and rightist nonsense you see on the news is all a following of individuals worshipping someone's political ideologies. For instance, the women's march is just a large following because people rush to judgement on people being sexist all the time. The same can be said for the alt right as they continue worshipping political figures of the past and present, who just want to judge people on the basis of religion or skin colour. Now I'm not trying to start a political argument here, but one key point that Morpheus said is that without judgement, civilisation cannot function. Well all of that is a judgement, fame is a judgement. People following opinion leaders are all judgements and will believe anything they have to say. For instance, Greta Thunberg, she has amassed a large following on the basis of judgements made to world governments on how they fail to respond to environmental issues. Then there is Donald Trump, who people follow because of his judgements on border politics and monetary values. Could you imagine what the world would be like without judgement? as Morpheus lists civilisation would fail to exist and maybe it is a good thing that people continue judging each other. Deus Ex also focuses on billion dollar corporations. In the past, there were many media corporations but nowadays there are few corporations as they own everything. Disney in particular (a company I despise) is one of the biggest monopolies in the world and they continue buying out competitors and people are sucked to Amazon, only buying products online because of how successful it is. It is scary to think that maybe one day, these corporations may have access to things that are private, and actually that has already happened. Like Morpheus said, the need to be observed is now satisfied through use of data mining algorithms, something that Facebook got caught using in 2018. As I said in the title, Deus Ex is right yet again and its that time of the year isn't it. The fact it has got all of this right is shocking but I think more people need to play this game, it truly is a masterpiece that will make you socially aware of everything. It's a bit like black mirror almost [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Apr 2020 04:45 PM PDT One guy says something from DX1's intro and the other says 'oh yes' or 'i take it he was agreeable?' Seriously, stop this. I'm trying to focus on my work here at FEMA. Being a director isn't easy. [link] [comments]
The most powerful enemy in Deus Ex Revision is... Posted: 09 Apr 2020 10:31 PM PDT Not any UNATCO/MJ12 trooper... Or any robot... Or MIB/WIB/MJ12 commando... Or Anna/Gunter/Walton... It's anyone with a sniper rifle. Seriously, the moment any enemy with a sniper rifle sees you, they will instantly one shot you. Most of the time, these guys are hidden away in obscure areas, usually dark or somewhere up high. Makes sense from a realism point of view, but from a gameplay point of a view, it is not fun to get one shot 10 times over and have no idea where they are because there are no cues to indicate where they are. I love Revision; I think it has some neat, refreshing and interesting changes and I love 99.9% of it, but this seriously has to go. It's just frustrating having to deal with sniper wielding enemies, getting one shot every time and having to deal with them most of the time through quick saving and quick loading. NPC Sniper rifle damage OR accuracy need to be seriously tuned down; I've got Ballistic Armor and Ballistic Protection level 2 and I'm still getting one shot in the torso. Literally anyone with a sniper rifle is 100000000x more scary than Walton Simons with a Plasma Rifle. [link] [comments]
Does JC Denton survive the Dark Age ending (theories)? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 11:32 PM PDT I was recently watching vids of the Dark Age ending, and it shows JC running away with Tong speaking in the background. However it cuts away before the big explosion. Do you think JC can run away fast enough to survive this? Even with speed augs he's gonna have to cover quite some distance to reach the blast doors and as far as I remember there were elevators present in many places. In some speedruns it takes around 7-8 mins to reach the generators. Assuming we need the same time to get back, I fear it won't be enough time for JC. What a rotten way to die :P On a side note, isn't the current world situation reminiscent of Gray Death? [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Apr 2020 03:02 PM PDT On my second visit to Prague, I worked my way through the Red Queen and stumbled upon Radich. Not wanting to affect future quests, but still wanting to loot his office, I stunned him and his escorts. Made sure he showed as sleeping and went on my way. Fast forward to just now. I'm at the board of suspects in the Interpol base and he's showing as deceased. What's up with that? [link] [comments]

Can anyone help me to find this soundtrack(s)? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 02:07 PM PDT I have been searching for a specific track in Deus ex Mankind Divided for months now to no avail. If you please could help me, that would be great. Here is what i can remember: -It is NOT a dlc/mod OST -Three parts: Ambient, escalation and finally combat. The combat part is the ONLY part that has a woman sighing/taking long breath. The woman also hummed in the combat part -It was posted on youtube [three tracks in one video] but it was deleted. -There is a good chance that it was either an unreleased soundtrack/ripped straight from the game -Finally, I swear it is something flats/apartment [not jensen apartment] but i can be mistaken. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you. [link] [comments]
