Deus Ex Do I have to play Human Revolutions to play Mankind Divided? |
- Do I have to play Human Revolutions to play Mankind Divided?
- FINALLY got into this game by following some simple rules
- Basically they cancelled Deux Ex to make ... Deux Ex in the Avengers universe.
- With the bundle with all of the games on steam on sale, I was wondering if it's worth it to get all the games, or only some? I heard somewhere the later ones aren't as good, don't know if that's true.
- Wow that ending (spoilers)
- Cyberpunk 2077 comparison & discussion
Do I have to play Human Revolutions to play Mankind Divided? Posted: 30 Oct 2019 09:44 PM PDT Would it really enhance my experience? Are they both self contained stories, or are they continued? Do I need to get the directors cut of HR, to get the best experience, or can I pass with the reg edition? Thanks for the input. Both games are cheap regardless, it's just my memory sucks ass and I have such a big backlog. [link] [comments]
FINALLY got into this game by following some simple rules Posted: 30 Oct 2019 07:03 AM PDT Everything about DX:HR is right up my alley. So much possibility for an immersive and fun game. I'd boot it up each year and start the campaign afresh and quit after a few hours because it just felt clunky and too confined in the way it wanted me to play. I think I may have finally cracked it. By following these simple rules I'm finally having a blast. #1 Ignore cover system. We have a crouch button for that. It's immersion breaking and any game that glues me to wall makes me want to throw my PC out a window. #2 Ignore any upgrades for x-ray vision or target tracking. This makes sense in the context of being augmented but still, I want to be surprised and have that oh shit moment. #3 Turn off objective markers and figure out how to read a map. #4 Forget about achievements and mission bonuses for stealth which brings us to... #5 Don't save scum. If the hack fails, if stealth fails, pop out your RPG and redefine "stealth" and make up your own achievements. And finally but optional, #6 If some civilian is looking funny at you, if you're annoyed some NPC got butthurt over not stealthing their side mission or taking a bribe, if that bouncer is giving you the arsehole, well then...see #5 This may not be the "Deus Ex" way of doing things but boy is it fun. I'm not a huge stealthing fan but I'm a fan of immersive games. This game gave me those HL2/Prey tingles when exploring around. So much style. Also, any game that gives you the option to be a jerk and punch civilians in the face gets a thumbs up in my book. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Oct 2019 11:31 AM PDT Maybe I misunderstood but in mankind divided you don't play as Adam Jensen but someone who had AJ's memories implanted. That also explains why his augmentations were all new. Or am I wrong? [link] [comments]
Cyberpunk 2077 comparison & discussion Posted: 30 Oct 2019 12:55 AM PDT I'm personally excited for it. I know it's going to be a big deal when it releases and I want to be a part of that experience, but also, it looks like a full-on spiritual successor to our Deus Ex games (at least until SE inevitably releases another DX game). It seems pretty spot-on to me at least. The character creator also looks pretty in-dept, with little hexagon tattoos and whatnot that you can put on your character (meaning I'm going to just do my best to make him look like Adam and just pretend it's a DX spin-off to make myself feel better). Seems a little cheesy at times. Like the gang names "The animals" and the "Voodoo Boyz".... like, really? And it just looks like a Deus Ex game with GTA aspects, which is a format a lot of games are taking on these days. "____ + GTA" is an easy, successful formula. Just look at what happened with the Batman: Arkham games, the Just Cause games, hell, even Lego jumped on that bandwagon with Lego City Undercover. Let's not even talk about Watchdogs. Still though, the combat looks good, I like the idea of Keanu Reeves haunting you as some kind of digital phantom, and the city's backstory of being an under-funded-paradise-project is unique for this genre, at least to my knowledge. All in all, I'm pretty hype. What are your thoughts on it? And based on what we see so far, do you think SE's next DX game will draw inspiration from it in the future, or is CP2077 drawing too much inspiration from Deus Ex? [link] [comments] |
