I think what sets Deus Ex apart is hyper-complex interactive environments Posted: 22 Jul 2020 06:01 PM PDT I was recently thinking, 'What is it that makes DE such a truly epic series?' I've played GOTY, HR and MD multiple times each. They all had interesting weapons, great plots with escalating tangling conspiracies and interesting dialogue, great weapons, smooth battle system, stealth, enjoyable side quests etc. I think what makes DE truly head and shoulders above the rest is that no other game I've played has environments so complex that it's actually a different experience every time I play. I could go on and on forever about the freedom of the DE open-world levels and the intricacies of the missions that can all be played 10 different ways. You all already know that. Deus Ex games give the 'real living world' feeling better than any game I know. Even a game like Halflife which has amazing level design doesn't get that feeling of texture and reality. Open-world RPGs don't let you interact with most of the environment either. Playing any other game after DE there is always a shock: I can basically only go in one line, and can't touch anything in the world around me except doors & weapons. there's no hidden paths to explore. if you see a dead end it's just a dead end, no hidden item. no open areas to go wandering looking for items or NPCs with potential side-quests. I'm curious if people would agree or disagree with this assessment, and why. If there are other games out there that have better environments than DE, I would definitely be interested in hearing about them. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:00 AM PDT Hi I burned my pc to ground so I'll have to wait until I get myself a new PC in the meantime I wanted play Deus Ex on my dads shitty laptop. Everything runs fine but I can't run the game with DirectX 10 because renderer injects 16x AA and I can't disable it no matter what I do. I turn it down to 0 in Deusex.ini and it jumps back to 16. Can anyone help me with this? [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Jul 2020 06:24 PM PDT If I have to choose, I'd go with the Physiopharmaceutical Augmentation since it's the one implemented for elite forces only. Except for the self destruct mechanism, of course... [link] [comments]

[DX:HR] Is there any consequences from taking down all the SWATS in the first mission? Posted: 22 Jul 2020 08:16 AM PDT The Sarif's Manufacturing Plant mission. There were plenty of SWATS before and after the mission. I thought their ammo might come in handy so I took them all down, including the ones that show up after I rescue Josiah Thorpe. Gameplay/story-wise, is there any consequences from taking down them all? I've completed all the quests given to me regardless. [link] [comments]
Looking for a lore focused walkthrough of the original Deus Ex. Posted: 22 Jul 2020 01:45 PM PDT I'm watching Threadbareinc right now on lecture 8 and looking for another. I'm tired of pausing the video to read the journals and newspapers, the text are small and I'm starting to get headache I swear. I really like he's style, he doesn't skip anything except for reading those lore pieces. [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Jul 2020 08:35 AM PDT Hello. So days ago I got to the main part of Deus Ex Mankind Divided, where I get to explore a town and do what I want. I can be able to talk to a guy called Sarif on TV, but I'm not sure what to choose. Is he evil? The Human Revolution recap did say something about him. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Jul 2020 05:05 AM PDT Has anyone figured out the ages of each character in the Deus Ex Universe? I always wondered how old each character were. [link] [comments] |
