- Got excited for a few seconds thinking it was a new Deus Ex
- *SPOILERS* I couldn't let Maggie die in the VersaLife lab, so I dragged her out. I ended up just bringing her with me throughout the rest of the game.

Deus ex fans, don't sleep on Deathloop! Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:58 AM PDT It's a game developed by arkane studios. They are extremely important for the immersive sim genre, since they developed prey, the Dishonored saga, and arx fatalis. The game was shown during the ps5 presentation with a gameplay trailer, and maybe you remember it because the main character used the blink from Dishonored a few times. There are already many news that let us understand what the game will be like: -the main character is stuck in a loop, that restarts whenever he dies. He has to exploit the knowledge acquired in the previous "life" to reach his objectives. -the game is set on a big "party" island, where people stay in vacation, and where apparently the main attraction is killing the main character. -to break the loop, he has to kill some (specific, I think) targets. -he is hunted down by Juliana, a woman (who is probably in the loop with him, who, I think, must kill the main character to break free) who will always be on his traces. Juliana can be controlled by another player or by the AI. This option can be set by the player who impersonates the main character. -the game will have the signature Arkane studios gameplay. So yeah, it's an immersive sim. -the game will launch only on ps5 and pc. Why am I saying this? Well, the immersive sim genre isn't very supported. There are a few communities (like this one) that constantly show interest in the series of Deus ex, one of the most famous immersive sims out there, but the genre is pretty unknown to the mainstream gaming community. Many people thought that prey was boring, and that's because they saw a fps with a bunch of guns and thought it would be an action shooter or a survival. I am not making this post to make free advertisement or something like that, I am just trying to increase the interest in the only immersive sim that is currently in development we know of. Showing support to its development will increase the probabilities of studios investing in immersive sims. This genre is awesome, and the fact that it doesn't have the attention it deserves makes me sad. When was the last immersive sim released? Also, deathloop looks dope af and, even if the presentation during the stream didn't really show something that hinted at the immersive sim genre, it has all my attention. Bethesda does a crappy job at advertising the games made by arkane studios. Prey didn't sell how it should have, and Dishonored the death of the outsider (the spin off) is unknown to most people. Oh, poor prey mooncrash. That dlc was unknown even to people who owned the main game. I hope I didn't break any rule with this post. I know it isn't about Deus ex, but still, it's about a game of the same genre. TL;DR Deathloop Is one of the few (maybe the only) immersive sim currently in development we know of, it looks dope af and we should show interest and support to its development, because game publishers like Bethesda softworks don't invest in the marketing of immersive sims. This genre deserves much more [link] [comments]
Does killing in man-kind divided affect the ending? Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:35 AM PDT That's it. Does it matter if I go lethal/non-lethal? Does it have any effect at all? [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Jun 2020 04:35 PM PDT So I'm wanting to play the original Deux Ex again with this GMDX mod, and I'm having some FPS issues, GTX 1080, Ryzen 3700x. If I run in DX10, I get no higher than 60 fps and it drops to 40. If I run it at DX9, I get around 100 fps with drops to 40-60. This is all around the starting docks area as I'm trying to fix the FPS before progressing. Did I do something wrong or am I missing something? Edit: Vanilla seems to run perfectly fine.
