New to Deus Ex - How do I stealth Posted: 10 May 2020 07:38 PM PDT I've been planning on playing an Immersive Sim since I saw Mark Brown's video about it. After having a hard time adjusting Deus Ex GOTY brightness, I finally started the game and I figured out that I couldn't take any enemy down quietly. I triet using the batton that I got from a corpse to hit someone from behind but that didn't work, I tried to, after shooting some fellas down, backstab them with a knife I found and that did'nt work too. What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't those 1hko the enemies? [link] [comments]
Updated Sources for Deus Ex SDK? Posted: 10 May 2020 04:01 PM PDT I'm actually very curious to know if anyone has ever taken all the information about using the Deus Ex SDK and centralized it all in a new space on the internet. As I've been mapping in the game, I've come across certain problems that the (archived) Tack's Lab does not actually answer, like using "frobbable" objects as level transitions. Or taking current 3D tools/plugins/converters to effectively put new 3D models INTO the game itself. I know OTP (the guys behind the Nameless Mod) have done a massive amount of work with the older Deus Ex Engine ("UE 1.5"), but I don't think I've ever seen them talk about the various techniques they used for some of the more abstract tricks they've implemented in their levels, and I'd LOVE to see someone do that at an updated source. I know this game is super old, but for it's popularity (in comparison to games like Doom or Quake, which while pseudo-open sourced, are still modded pretty heavily these days), I'm surprised that this has not happened in earnest. Correct me if I'm wrong, or feel free to just comment on the idea. I'd love to hear back from people who're knowledgeable on this. I'll keep searching for stuff on my end. [link] [comments]
[spoilers] Playing HR first time, CASIE or not? Posted: 10 May 2020 01:42 PM PDT Would you recommend using casie? I didn't use it till I got to the conversation with David Sarif about backdoor in the system. I've quite enjoyed the conversations so far and done them all correctly (though I admit I played the Zeke's conversation like 2 years ago, but barely remembered). I want to solve stuff through talking if possible and I don't want to miss out stuff, so casie seemed like natural choice. On the other hand, it kind of lowers challenge, clutters screen, and has different (sometimes negative-r?) outcome if you decide to use the pheromones. Another thing is that idk if CASIE is required for some good stuff, ie you can't persuade a certain person without it or the persuasion with CASIE will in certain case have some bonuses. So what do you think? I don't want to save-scum, nor lose conversations and lock myself out of stuff, but CASIE also kinda sucks in some way. What's the best compromise? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 May 2020 01:34 PM PDT I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet, but over the weekend Steam has a Square Enix Eidos sale - it has 54 games for around $40, but you get money off if you already have a game. https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/14956/Square_Enix_Eidos_Anthology/ https://www.gamesradar.com/uk/tomb-raider-just-cause-and-deus-ex-series-included-in-square-enix-stay-home-and-play-bundle/ In particular it has the original Deus Ex, plus Invisible War, Human Revolution, Mankind Divided and The Fall - obviously most of the people here already have those games, but I didn't have Mankind Divided and The Fall, and it was a cheap way of getting both of them. I wonder if it'll revive interest in IW, given that it's not the kind of thing most people would buy on a whim. It also has Project Snowblind, which was a kind of abortive spin-off. The bundle also includes almost all of the Tomb Raider games - up to and including Rise of the Tomb Raider - plus the Thief games (including the 2014 reboot) and the Just Cause series. And the two Kane and Lynch games. And Daikatana. Finally, John Romero made me suck it down. It would have been great if the bundle included Sleeping Dogs, which is set in Hong Kong, but sadly no. Posted: 10 May 2020 07:39 AM PDT So I've had deus ex human revolution since it came free on psn, and bought mankind divided back on ps4 but ive never been able to get into them despite friends and family loving it. Recently ive had a kick for scifi movies and shows and felt like this series would be good to feed that itch for more interactive scifi. But my question is is there a huge continous story line between deus ex's? I dont have my PS3 anymore thanks to it getting stolen, so am I good to start on human revolution or should I buy the older ones first? I couldn't find anything about the story line being sequential between games on Google, but that might have to do with having to search 'Deus Ex Mschina' lol. [link] [comments]
Deus Ex 1 trainer and looking for mod Posted: 10 May 2020 12:58 AM PDT Hi, I want to play first Deus Ex again, but this time I want to do it on realistic but after completing the game - already have some augmentations and trained skills. Do you have copies of your savegames or know any trainer to edit (at least) skill points? I searched in Google, but only found ones for Mankind Divider or Human Revolution. Also, is Deus Ex GOTY from steam ok version? I bought bundle with it but I know, that many games have some modification from steam, that ruins original experience. Finally, I saw some YT video with gameplay from mod do Deus, where you can get upgraded baton from Paul or ammo from Navarre after finishing 1. mission. I can't find it now. Do you know which one I mean? [link] [comments] |
